North-eastern India is a treasure trove of orchids with incredible diversity in size, shape and colour; and with high keeping qualities even up to 10 weeks. Research and development initiatives led to collection of 3,130 accessions (being maintained in orchidaria), and improved technologies for its cultivation, domestic trade and export.
